Vero Software Plc is pleased to announce the merger of two of its Pacific Area resellers to create a new enterprise called STS-Camtek. Since the acquisition of Camtek Limited by Vero last year, both Specialised Technical Services Pty Ltd (STS) and Camtek Pacific have been providing CAD/CAM solutions from the same developer. Barry Dyson, CEO explains “Camtek and STS have been working co-operatively for many years and the merger of our two companies will provide a greater and more focussed range of products and services to our customers. A recent deal that combined Machining STRATEGIST, PEPS PentaCut and a Thermwood 5 Axis Milling Machine demonstrates the advantages of our collaboration.”
Specialised Technical Services Pty Ltd (STS) had been supplying CAD/CAM solutions, training and support to mechanical engineering, design and manufacturing business in Australia and New Zealand for 20 years. With over 40 years experience in engineering business, Barry Dyson started out as an apprentice fitter and turner before going on to become a mechanical design draftsman. Barry has completed more than 15 years of post- apprenticeship studies including certificates in toolmaking and welding, an Associate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Technical Teaching and two Graduate Diploma's at Swinburne University, one in Maintenance Engineering and one in CAD/CAM
Founded by Mark Goldfeld in 1989, Camtek Pacific has become a recognised leader in the Australian CAM industry through its creative involvement in the development and distribution of Knowledge Based Expert CAM systems both locally and internationally. Camtek Pacific supplies and develops standard and/or highly customized NC/CNC programming turnkey systems to reduce the programming and idle time of machine tools. Mark explains “Using our Expert CAM system the clients “specialised manufacturing know-how” is embedded into a computer data structure, from that foundation our system automatically generates NC/CNC programs that are right first time and every time !”
